Love Where You Live
We know how proud you are of Lanarkshire.
That’s why we’re inviting our readers to take a photo that shows how much you 'Love Where You Live' - giving you the chance to win cash and a prize that money can’t buy.
We’ve teamed up with not-for-profit organisation Alupro, who are sponsoring the competition, to highlight that the massive energy and carbon savings you make when you recycle aluminium drinks cans and foil are an important part of looking after our environment - both globally and close to home.
To enter the competition, all you have to do is to take a single photograph that shows why you 'Love Where You Live', and which also illustrates the importance of caring for the environment.
There are two categories that you can enter:
Local landscape and wildlife
People having an impact on where we live.
We want readers to upload their photos to our special flickr webpage where you can share your picture with other entrants.
There’s a prize pot of £10,000, which will be shared by six local winners from the
And the best photograph from an Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser reader will win an extra prize – the opportunity to spend a day with our picture desk.
You will see how our photographic team works, how our pictures get from camera to the newspaper and our web site, and you’ll have the chance to go out ‘on the road’ with one of our team and take a photo for the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser.
The winning entries will go forward to a national exhibition to be held at the Botanical Gardens, in
