Murder probe after man stabbed

Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man was stabbed in a city street.

The body of Gary Logue, 48, was discovered in Elderpark Street in the Govan area of Glasgow.

He was taken by ambulance to the city's Southern General Hospital but was dead on arrival.

Following a post mortem, Strathclyde Police said they are treating the death as murder and appealed for information.

Police say they received an anonymous call informing them that a man was lying in the street.

They found Mr Logue seriously injured from stab wounds. He was from the Pollokshields area of Glasgow.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

It is understood that police are following a definite line of inquiry.
