Survivors and relatives of victims of Britain's worst maritime disaster have marked the 70th anniversary of the tragedy with a ceremony at sea.
At least 4,000 people died when the Cunard liner Lancastria was attacked by German bombers and sank as it evacuated civilians and troops from the British Expeditionary Force from France in the Second World War.
Its sinking was the worst single loss of life for British forces of the entire war and claimed more lives than the Titanic and Lusitania combined, the Lancastria Association said.
