Flights remain grounded by ash

Flights in parts of northern Scotland and the Orkney and Shetland islands have remained grounded until at least 1pm on Friday due to the ash cloud.

This affected services out of Kirkwall, Stornoway, Wick and Inverness airports.

British Airways was running a full programme of flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports.
