Public purse strings to tighten

Holyrood ministers face tough decisions in next year's budget, a watchdog committee of MSPs has warned.

The current financial year is likely to be the peak year for public spending "for some years to come", said the MSPs.

And the Scottish Government should have contingency plans in place to deal the possibility that future budget may be even tighter than expected, they said.
