Warning over single survey scheme

A solicitors' organisation has warned that the new single survey and home report system could kill off the Scottish property market.

The Scottish Law Agents Society said the Scottish Government is "reckless" to introduce the reports when the country is in the grip of the credit crunch.

But a consumer group welcomed the introduction of the reports, claiming the new system would give buyers and sellers alike "peace of mind".
