Cops in Calderbank drugs swoops

POLICE have seized a quantity of drugs in separate incidents in Calderbank.

At Calderbank Nature Reserve on Tuesday, April 14, officers detained a 23-year-old man and recovered a quantity of diamorphine (heroin) valued at approximately £1100.

In Viewbank Avenue on Thursday, May 21, a 39-year-old man was detained after a large quantity of controlled drugs were recovered.

The haul included approximately 141g of cannabis, 1025g of suspected amphetamine, 82g of diamorphine and a large quantity of white powder which is yet to be analysed to confirm whether it is controlled drugs.

Estimated value of the drugs, excluding the white powder, is approximately £5000.

Both men were arrested and detained for appearance at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
