Coatbridge will be the venue for one of North Lanarkshire’s main Remembrance services this Sunday. It will take place at the war memorial on Blair Road at 11am.
Wreaths will be laid at the solemn ceremony on behalf of the Queen, council and local residents.
The service will be attended by Provost Jim Robertson, representatives of Lord Lieutenant Mushtaq Ahmad and other politicians and dignitaries from Monklands communities.
Remembrance Sunday ceremonies will also be held at memorials across Monklands.
The services give residents the opportunity to remember servicemen and women who have given their lives in conflict.
North Lanarkshire’s other main service this Sunday will be at the Cenotaph in Duchess of Hamilton Park in Motherwell, beginning at 3.15pm.
