RockNess search for emerging talent

Rockness

THE summer brings with it the chance for music lovers to enjoy the great outdoors, the opportunity to listen to their favourite artists while basking in sunshine – or wading knee deep in water or mud – as is often the case with our changeable Scottish weather.

The first of this year’s major music festivals is just around the corner; the banks of Loch Ness will soon be resonating to the sounds of Kasabian, Paolo Nutini and The Chemical Brothers.

Bombay Bicycle Club are the latest addition to the acts entertaining the crowds at RockNess 2011, but it’s not all about the big name acts as festival organisers have started the search to uncover new emerging talent.

A total of 20 acts will be selected to perform on the RockNess Sound City Stage over the weekend.

The best of those appearing will win a support slot on a forthcoming tour and will also be invited back to next year’s festival to perform in the Goldenvoice Arena.

If you think you’ve got what it takes then you can submit your entry up until May 29 at www.sonicbids.com/rockness.

RockNess takes place at Dores near Inverness from Friday, June 10. to Sunday, June 12. For tickets and line-up visit www.rockness.co.uk
