Dec 9 2009 Airdrie & Coatbridge
A FRAUDSTER stole bank cards from a woman who had an epileptic fit on a bus and withdrew hundreds of pound from her account.
Callous Angela O’Neil (22) from Park Street, Airdrie, took £1215 from her victim’s bank account between September 3 and September 15 this year.
She pleaded guilty to finding two bank cards “and without attempting to discover the true owner of said bank cards, did steal them”.
O’Neil also admitted a second charge of pretending to be the “lawful holder” of the bank cards and withdrawing £1215 from the Airdrie branch of Halifax Bank of Scotland on South Bridge Street.
Airdrie Sheriff Court heard that the victim suffered an epileptic fit on a bus and when she came round her bag was missing.
Andrew Fitzpatrick, defending, said the “monies had been repaid in full”.
Sheriff Frank Pieri put O’Neil on probation with periodic reviews.
The first review has been ordered for March 17, 2010
