Airdrie Library to play host for Burns’ tribute

AIRDRIE Library will join in with the Homecoming Year celebrations next week by hosting a talk on the national Bard.

Doctor Catherine Smith will visit the library next Thursday, October 29, to discuss her new book, The Stars of Robert Burns.

Her visit is part of North Lanarkshire’s fourth annual Words Festival of books and writing, which has run throughout October with support from the Scottish Arts Council.

She has studied not only Burns’ songs and poems, but also his letters, his horoscopes and love of astrology and the freemasons.

Next Thursday’s event at begins at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
