Airdrie Academy pupils enjoy Spanish lessons

A GROUP of S5 Higher Spanish students from Airdrie Academy soaked up the sun in Mallorca during a week of intensive study.

They travelled with pupils from other schools in Monklands and were based in the University of Palma’s student residences.

The students got to attend Spanish lessons and paid a visit to the parliament of the Balearics.

The highlight of the trip came when they visited their partner school in Sineu. They spent the full day following their timetable and afterwards had dinner at the home of their respective partners.

At the end of the trip there was a social event when everyone got together and students had the opportunity to try some traditional Mallorcan dances.

Most importantly, friendships were made and all of the pupils were given the opportunity to use their language skills in real situations.
