SPECIAL events are taking place next week to mark national play day, which falls on Wednesday, August 5.
Chapelhall Tenants and Residents Association are organising a free fun day at the St Aloysius and Chapelhall Primary campus on Honeywell Crescent.
It takes place from 11.45am until 3.30pm, and the activities on offer include magic, music, sports and a bouncy castle.
Another event on the same day is at Summerlee Heritage Park in Coatbridge being run by the Local Childcare Network and North Lanarkshire Council.
It will feature face painting, trampolines, drumming workshops, arts and crafts, traditional games and story-telling.
A similar “festival of fun” event will then be held the following day, August 6, at Kirkwood Sports Barn in Coatbridge and allows youngsters aged between five and 16 to enjoy local sports facilities.
Both of the North Lanarkshire fun days run from 11am-3pm, and children aged eight and under must be accompanied by an adult.
The council’s summer activity brochure, is available at www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk and from community centres and libraries.
