Not a merry festive season as woman is hit by bottle

A WOMAN who hit another female over the head with a bottle in a festive-season bust-up has been ordered to carry out community service.
Leeann Shannon appeared before Sheriff Duncan Murray for sentencing for the assault on December 27, 2007.
The 29-year-old, of Deedes Street, assaulted the woman at the Big Apple pub on Church Street in Coatbridge, injuring her victim by repeatedly striking her over the head.
Sheriff Murray told her: “With your lack of convictions and otherwise favourable report, I will restrict it to 120 hours of community service.”
