Chapelhall cyclist killed in road accident

A 38-YEAR-OLD Chapelhall cyclist has died in a crash involving a car.

John McCamley, above, was cycling along the B7066, between Salsburgh and the Newhouse roundabout, when he was struck by a blue westbound Ford Focus.

Emergency services attended but he received serious injuries and died at the scene.

The car driver was uninjured but has been left badly shaken.

The accident happened last Saturday at 9.35am.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Andy Mair is continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
