Neat moves at dance event

SEVERAL skilful moves were on show at the Dance2gether event in the Sir John Wilson Town Hall.

Over 200 kids attended the event, which marked the end of a six-week street dance programme organised by Active School Coordinators in Airdrie and Coatbridge.

Twelve primary schools were involved in the programme with the aim being to bring primary children together through dance.

There was a rehearsal in the morning, before the doors opened, and families poured in to see the afternoon performance.

For six weeks prior to the event the pupils took part in after-school clubs. These sessions were coached by dance specialists, primary teachers and senior high school pupils from Airdrie Academy, St Andrew’s High and St Ambrose High.

All the coaches did a fantastic job preparing their groups for the occasion and everyone who attended was very impressed.
