Get into the groove

SIR John Wilson Town Hall will be one of the venues for next month’s Groove Live festival, the annual North Lanarkshire youth arts festival.

The highlights of this year’s programme, which is aimed at young people aged between 11 and 25, include a performance by the MacDonald Brothers, dance and drama workshops with Spinal Chord and the Citizens’ Theatre respectively, Mull Theatre’s version of MacBeth and a children’s film festival.

Events will take place at various venues and schools across North Lanarkshire, with the programme covering drama, dance, music, creative writing, ceramics and visual art.

Groove Live will be launched at Bellshill Cultural Centre this Saturday, with a variety of taster sessions on offer from noon-4pm, and full details of the festival programme can be found in the Groove Live brochure, obtainable by calling 0141-304 1956.
