Bands battle to headline charity music festival

MONKLANDS bands have been urged to enter a competition that could see them headline a charity music festival.

Organisers of The Scribbler’s Picnic in Stirling are hosting a battle of the bands competition on Friday, August 22 – two days before the main festival at Stirling Rugby Club.

Six unsigned bands will battle it out in front of a panel of judges before one act will be crowned The Scribbler’s Picnic Battle of The Bands Champion 2008.

The winning act will step out to play in front of up to 2000 people on the Fubar-sponsored main stage at The Scribbler’s Picnic.

Bands are asked to send contact details and a three-track demo to The Fubar, 6 Maxwell Place, Stirling, before August 8.

Bands will have to be available on the evening of August 22 and daytime, on August 24, to take part in the competition.

The Scribbler’s Picnic is on Sunday, August 24, from noon till 6pm at Stirling Rugby Club.
