Feb 7 2008 Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser
THE Airdrie & Coatbridge Music Club are bringing one of Ireland’s best talents to Glenmavis’ Kirkstyle Inn next Saturday, February 16.
Gavin Moore comes from one of Ireland’s greatest musical families, with his uncles being the legendary Christy Moore and Luka Bloom.
Although the influences of being part of such a musical legacy are there, Gavin has found his own path and has proved to be one of the country’s best new songwriters and performers.
The music club’s organiser Iain Stretford said: “Gavin’s music is both haunting and uplifting and has been compared to John Martyn, Van Morrison and Richard Thompson.
“Travelling the globe with his guitar is what Gavin does best and with sellout tours of Australia, Germany and America behind him, he has honed his craft into a magical live show mixed with as many hilarious stories as there is brilliant music.
“Gavin is currently recording the follow up to his debut album Until Today, something which has been taking a while due to Gavin’s high standards, but his live shows have shown that it will be well worth the wait.”
Supporting Gavin at this show will be a long-time favourite of the music club, Maeve O’Boyle. This promises to be an amazing evening for all music fans.
Tickets for the show are £5 and are available from the Kirkstyle Inn.
Doors open 8pm with the first act on stage at around 9pm. For more information log on to www.acmusicclub.co.uk or call (01236) 763158.
