LOCAL girl Zoe Mahoney is looking for back-to-back title wins when she competes in the world stone-skimming championships this weekend.
The Airdrie youngster won the girls’ under-10s competition at last year’s gathering which was held on Easdale Island, off Oban.
Zoe’s success came just 12 months after brother Zack was runner-up in the boys’ under-10s event in 2006.
Both siblings will take part in the championships on Sunday and are hoping to do well in the 11-16-year-old category.
Mum Liane told the Advertiser: “People come from all over the world to participate in this event.
“Zoe was really chuffed to win last year and we will be going back up there to see if we can be successful again.”
