INCESSANT rain saw Waysiders/Drumpellier RFC’s trip to Lenzie washed out at the weekend.
It meant a second successive Saturday of frustration for Jon Shaw’s troops after their home clash with Lismore was abandoned.
The Langloan outfit will be hoping for better luck this Saturday when they host Strathmore in a crucial National League Three encounter.
W/D’s opponents narrowly lost 14-12 to runaway table-toppers Lasswade, who boast the division’s only 100 per cent record, on their last outing and currently sit in third position with 27 points.
Shaw’s men have dropped to sixth place in the table after winning four of their opening seven games.
The head coach said: “What made last weekend more frustrating was that Lenzie officials left it late in the day before calling the game off.
“But we had a good training session and spent a bit of time working on several things so the day wasn’t wasted.
“We really need a victory against Strathmore if we want to stay in contention at the top so this is a big game.”
