Golf: Drumpellier drive home 10-0 win over EK

GRAHAM GILLICK produced “the best shot of his career” as Drumpellier Golf Club whitewashed sorry East Kilbride.

The 44-year-old played his part in his side’s stunning 10-0 Lanarkshire League First Division triumph by winning the last hole.

Gillick had been three up with four to play but saw his lead whittled to nothing going into the final stages of his match.

With his opponent nicely placed in the middle of the fairway, Gillick knew he needed something special on the 493-yard par five if he was going to avoid defeat.
