EASTER MOFFAT Golf Club moved a step closer to promotion from the Lanarkshire League Fifth Division after demolishing Biggar.
The Plains team hammered their South Lanarkshire opponents 10-0 to cement their place at the summit.
After two defeats in a week, Drumpellier Golf Club got back to winning ways in the First Division with a 9-1 thrashing of Strathaven.
Young Callum Morrow was the night’s top performer as he secured his first success of 2009 with a 6&5 triumph over Craig Duguid.
Jim Reid’s performance also caught the eye as he followed up a win at Cambuslang with another solid victory.
None of the Drumps line-up lost a match as they comfortably claimed the points and the club now sit in the top half of the table.
In the Third Division, leaders Airdrie Golf Club enjoyed a free week.
l ALLYN DICK produced a terrific second round score of 67 to win the Drumpellier Cup for the second time in three years.
The Kingsknowe Golf Club member finished two shots clear of Drumps’ Steven Rennie after amassing a two-under-par aggregate score of 140.
l DRUMPELLIER Golf Club held their Buchanan Medal/Help the Aged/third championship qualifier on Saturday and attracted 188 players. Results were as follows:
