IRN-BRU SECOND DIVISION:
ALBION ROVERS 0
FORMER Airdrie striker Bryan Prunty sentenced Albion Rovers to a seventh defeat in eight games.
Prunty grabbed his 11th goal of the season at The Rock on Saturday to maintain Dumbarton's promotion play-off push.
The result keeps Rovers in the relegation zone on goal difference, three points above rock-bottom Stirling Albion.
But the Binos, and Forfar Athletic in eighth place, both have two games in hand.
Player/assistant manager Todd Lumsden was in charge of first-team affairs again with boss Paul Martin recovering from a virus.
Ex-Rovers attacker Pat Walker had an early opportunity for the Sons with the Coatbridge men hitting back just before the break.
A shot from on-loan Motherwell youngster Jordan Halsman was saved by keeper Stephen Grindlay with Danny McKay's rebound blocked.
Dumbarton netted the winning goal in the 61st minute when Prunty converted following good work by midfielder Scott Agnew.
