BOBBY BARR bounced back from injury at the weekend - and extended his lead at the top of the Albion Rovers player of the year table.
The lively midfielder was named man-of-the-match in the Coatbridge club’s excellent 2-1 Scottish Cup win at Berwick Rangers.
He now enjoys an eight-point gap to the next placed player who is midfielder Ciaran Donnelly.
Airdrie United’s clash with Dunfermline Athletic was postponed so there is no update required on the position of the Diamonds Player of the Year.
At the end of the season, the best performing Airdrie United and Albion Rovers players will receive a trophy.
The awards are kindly sponsored by the Gillespie Investment Group whom the Advertiser thanks for their backing.
Current leaderboard:
Albion Rovers player of the year: 22 - Barr; 14 - Donnelly; 12 - Marc Pollock; 11 - Pat Walker.
Airdrie player of the year: 15 - Paul Di Giacomo; 14 - Stephen Robertson; 11 - Scott McLaughlin, Simon Lynch; 10 - Bobby Donnelly.
