IRN-BRU SECOND DIVISION:

STENHOUSEMUIR v AIRDRIE

Ochilview, 3pm

AIRDRIE striker Scott Gemmill is aiming to bounce back from his Cappielow calamity by shooting down Stenny at Ochilview tomorrow.

The 23-year-old forward squandered three great chances at Morton during Tuesday night's 2-2 Scottish Cup fourth-round thriller.

Nothing went right for Gemmill in front of goal but he's determined to make the Warriors pay this weekend and guide the Diamonds to a sixth league win of the season.

He told Advertiser Sport: "We were disappointed not to go through to the next round on Tuesday as we were 2-0 up and had enough chances to win the game.

"My decision-making could have been better at times and I'm a little bit disappointed with that.

"But you learn from your mistakes and hopefully things will go well for me at Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

"It would be nice to get among the goals again as my next one would take me into double figures but I just want to do well for the team.

"We want the three points and I think we will go there and be confident of getting a victory."

Gemmill says the car park bust-up involving Scott Gibson and Ryan Wallace, which resulted in the pair having their contracts terminated, won't have a lasting impact on the rest of the squad.

He added: "Everybody in the dressing room gets on with one another and we're all pals and keep in touch away from the club.

"It's a good tight group of boys here and we all work hard for each other."

Airdrie won 3-1 at Stenny back in August and gaffer Jimmy Boyle is hoping his men can dial up a repeat performance.

"We're unbeaten in four games and hoping to go there and get a result because the league is very important to us," said the manager.

"I don't think it will be a big problem getting the lads focused again after the cup game. They know what's expected of them and a win would keep us pushing those top four places."
