Barr and Robertson are front runners in trophy bid

BOBBY BARR is surging clear in the race to become Albion Rovers player of the year.

The 20-year-old collected another man-of-the-match award in his side’s 3-1 victory over Cowdenbeath on Saturday.

He now has an 11-point advantage over midfielder Ciaran Donnelly with Marc Pollock a couple of points further adrift.

In the Airdrie United version of the competition, goalkeeper Stephen Robertson has regained the lead following his performance in the 1-1 draw with Dundee.

At the end of the season, the top performer at both Airdrie and Rovers will be presented with a trophy.
