ALBION ROVERS hitman Bobby Barr continues to blaze a trail in the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser player of the year awards competition.

The young forward collected another man-of-the-match accolade at the weekend when he scored a hat-trick in the Cliftonhill outfit’s 6-1 romp at Elgin City.

He has now bagged six goals this season and moved onto 19 points in his quest to become Rovers’ top performer.

The 20-year-old is eight points ahead of midfielder Ciaran Donnelly and Pat Walker, who has since left the club.

In the Airdrie version of the competition, Paul Di Giacomo still leads the way on 12 points, three clear of Bobby Donnelly.

The two Stephens, Robertson and McKenna, are in joint third position after earning points in the weekend defeat to Clyde.
