Gaelic footballers welcome Irish visitors

COATBRIDGE’S Gaelic Football initiative continues to go from strength-to-strength.

Recently, Watty Graham’s Gaelic Athletic Club under-12s from Maghera in County Derry visited Espieside Parks to play against several teams of kids who have been learning the sport for the past two years.

The successful event was followed by a couple of hours spent at the local Time Capsule water complex and a social evening featuring traditional music and Irish dancing demonstrated by local musicians and dancers.

Money raised at the event has been forwarded to Father Martin Chambers to assist his work in a shanty town in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
