DAVID BROPHY completed a busy month with victory over southpaw Danny Brown on Friday night.

The 21-year-old middleweight maintained his impressive 100 per cent record with a fourth win since turning professional.

Caldercruix puncher Brophy beat Essex boy Brown unanimously on points after four dominant rounds at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Centre.

He had defeated Ryan Clark only a fortnight earlier and is now looking forward to his festive break following a challenging bout.

“I was pleased with how I did against my first southpaw,” Brophy told Advertiser Sport.

“He came up here with a record of two wins and two losses from four fights so he wasn’t a journeyman.

“But I managed to hurt him with some left and right hooks and I even managed to get my jab working well.

“I didn’t know he was a southpaw until the first bell went but I changed everything automatically and got on with it.”

Brophy added: “I was a bit tired during the fight as I’d been in the ring two weeks ago so I’m delighted with the win.

“I’ll have a rest over Christmas and then get started again early next year. I’m not thinking about title bouts just now. We’re just taking it one fight at a time.”
