Daniel makes boxing debut

MEMBERS of Coatbridge’s Barn Boxing Club have fights lined up for next month.

Eamon Goodbrand is first in action on Saturday, October 4 when he goes head-to-head with Steven Weir in Paisley.

On Sunday, October 19, three fights have been scheduled with lightweight Brian Black in the ring.

Heavyweight Stuart Henderson is also on the bill as is 12-year-old Daniel McDade who will take part in his first competitive fight.

Rab Bannan, of the club, said: “We are hoping the youths in particular will be successful.

“We’re also hoping to break into international boxing this season as some of the talent we have is quite outstanding.”
