Around 120 youngsters from primary schools in Airdrie took part in a special sports hall athletics event.
The pupils gave their all in track and field disciplines at the competition organised by the town’s active schools team and St Margaret’s High School’s sports leaders.
St Margaret’s was the venue for the kids who took inspiration from the succes of Team GB athletes a London 2012 Olympic Games.
Places in the county finals, to be held next month at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Centre, were up for grabs with the winners there going on to the national finals.
And for Rochsolloch and St Dominic’s primaries, the dream of competing with the best in Scotland is still alive after they won through their respective sessions.
Track and field disciplines such as the long jump, high jump, hurdles and relay races were part of the event.
The winners received medals afterwards with certificates going to all of those who took part.
Emma Lafferty, of the active schools team, said: “Everyone had a great time and well done to the winners.”
