Albion Rovers ready for Morton replay

Albion Rovers manager Todd Lumsden.

Boss Todd Lumsden says Albion Rovers’ 1-1 draw with Morton in the third round of the Scottish Cup has lifted confidence.

The teams will do it all again next Tuesday night for the right to play Turriff United.

Lumsden said: “It was a great result for us at the weekend. Morton are a good side but they didn’t overshadow us at all.

“We went into half-time on a real high after taking the lead but we could have defended better for their equaliser.

“We will go down there and have a go. It will be a difficult game but we will have the mindset we had on Saturday.”

The manager added: “People may think we have already had our best chance of winning the tie.

“We will have to be compact and make sure we defend well. We may need Morton to have an off-night.”

Rovers are without a game this Saturday as opponents Brechin City face Junior outfit Bonnyrigg Rose in a cup replay of their own.
